Nope - cause the way the engine is managed by the rider causes and prevents heat - a cross country trip taken at 90-100 kms versus the same trip at 110-120 will certainly make a difference to the heat generated by the engine and the subsequent gold and then bluing of the exhaust.
Neat thought though - keep the rubber side down
